SAM cHaRiTy DrIvE 2005
good morning world! it's currently 9.20 am, on a bright saturday morning, and i'm eating rambutans for breakfast.YUM!!
as u all have noticed, this post is a wee bit late. LOL. no surprises there.
to those of you whom i haven't been able to reach out to a.k.a. talk to for quite awhile, i am so so sorry. will catch up with you guys soon, aiight?
so anyway, approximately two days and a few hours ago, it was the SAM charity drive in taylor's. had lotsa fun there. i'm gonna do this chronologically. so, remain patient yea?
well, woke up at 6 am with the intention to head off early to college so that i could help out with S2's stall. took my bath, got into clothes, packed my stuff for drama, and walah, 7 am!!goodness knows what i did for so long. no idea.
knocked a lot on fat brother's door, asking him to hurry up(he provides me a frequently-broken-down-shuttle-service), got some weird rumblings for a reply. prolly some swear words all rolled into one.
anyhow, somehow, i managed to get my bro out of bed and we were soon on the way to coll. i reached only at about 7.45 am. big whoop there. right.
upon entry to coll, i could already see lotsa stalls being set up, and major white tents being put up. i headed over to S2's stall, and saw that we were already what u can call quite prepared. about 15 ppl were already there, namely suet ning, michelle, john, de jun, issac, wei chuen, li xien, y'ng yiing, ru ying, yu yee, jason soh, and many many more. so since i am the loudspeaker of the class, i decided to help promote our stall's stuff. so, with my extremely 'powderful' voice, i screamed and shouted the morning away. note the morning. LOL.
btw, this is what i screamed:
1) CHOCOLATE BANANAS!!!CHOCOLATE BANANAS FOR SALE!!!!
2) BEE-EH-ANN-AY-ANN-AY (spells b-a-n-a-n-a)
3) ROOT BEER!!ROOT BEER!!
4) NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER!!!NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER FOR SALE!!
5) CARLSBERG!!CARLSBERG!!!
6) LELONG!!LELONG!!!DAMN CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!
so anyway, if u were wondering, this is what my class sold:
a) chocolate coated banana with cereal (corn flakes) as toppings - RM 1.50
b) root beer (A&W) with vanilla ice cream a.k.a. root beer float - RM 1.50
c) drummets (ayamas and later A1) sold later in the day - RM 1.50 for one, RM 2.50 for two.
(yes, i'll admit, they were quite expensive plus the fact that they're really small. prolly bout the size of one finger. MY finger. and i'm telling you, my fingers ARE SHORT!!LOL)
so since we started selling at bout 7 ++, the bananas were being sold at quite a fast pace i reckon. yours truly managed to sell some bananas off :
a) jonathan, one choc-banana - RM 1.50 (he ate it, said that it was not bad.hehe)
b) ann ye, two choc-bananas - RM 3.50 PLUS a bottle of rootbeer, 1.5 Litres for RM 10!!!! (note, he is the only living person i know who hates chocolate, plus the sight of bananas grosses him out. so basically, he bought the bananas for no reason at all. he gave both bananas back to me and said that it's ok if i want to eat them or if i want to sell them off again. for the FREAKING expensive rootbeer, he said it's up to me to charge him however much i wanted. so i went ahead with suggesting rm 10. he agreed!! my gosh, i feel bad for extorting money out of him. but this isn't the end of it. read on.)
c) omar, one choc-banana - RM 1.50(just before his icpu literacy test. hope the banana brought him luck!!!LOL)
d) chi yuen, one choc-banana - RM 1.50
e) a few random ppl around
but honestly, the hit of the day were the drummets!!! we started selling them only at about, 9 ++ am as we all decided to just skip classes. they were selling very very well. to prove my statement, this is what i managed to sell :
a) jonathan, THREE drummets - RM 5.00!! (yes, i know i over-charged him. LOL. he had no change, and he didn't really mind. so yea, 5 bucks it is!!hehe)
b) ann ye, FIVE drummets - RM 10.00!!!!!!! (i think our class profitted a lot just from this one person. LOL. what happened was, i answered jonathan's call from ann ye, and so i screamed, asking him where he was, and there u see him walking in to college smiling. couldn't resist asking him to buy some drummets as i was holding this tray with 5 drummets on it. so he said ok. i asked him how many he wanted, and he didn't really answer coz he was in quite a rush. (off to cc. geez.) so i suggested allll of it. his reply was kinda off-the-hook coz he wasn't really focusing on my words. so he just kept agreeing. feeling damn surprised, i just grabbed his wallet :
sw : *Takes wallet* i take the whole thing ah. later u come back from cc only i give u back. that time all your money gone i dunno ah.
ay : *didn't realize i took his wallet or something. he was just unfocused. LOL* huh?whhat?eh..no lah..nolah..cannot..give back..give back.
sw : ok ok...how much now u want me to charge? i take 10 bucks arh
ay : ya..ya..ok..ok..faster take
and so u have it. 10 bucks for 5 drummets. gilaness i tell u as jonathan would say.
c) ren jiun, my own classmate, TWO drummets - RM 6.00!!!!! (ok..well this was really my part. LOL. he didn't have change, and i just took all the money in his hand)
rj : eh, i wanna buy two drummets. how much?
sw : 2.50
rj : *takes out 5 dollar note, then another 1 dollar note. he was looking for change*
sw : *grabs all* no change ah?k la..nvm la..pay 6 bucks only.
rj : huh?eh..aren't i supposed to get cheaper?S2 wat?
sw : so wat??so wat??
rj : .....speechless, but relents anyway, with this big smile.LOL
i went for lunch with siew kim and yen pei at the cafeteria since i saw them round and i suggested we go yum char together. LOL.
then i went and got my hair streaked with red hair spray. paid rm 3.50 for it.unfortunately, they ran out of it halfway doing my hair. so basically i had half my head done, and half my other head not quite done. but it still looked cool anyway.i think.
had some fun trying to work the deep fryer, managed to cook a few batches.
then we had a WATER BALLOON FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!that was SOOOO Cool. firstly,coz it was unplanned. someone came up with the idea of selling water balloons and since some of our classmates were goin to carrefour anyway to load up on drummets, we decided to get some balloons as well. secondly, we were the only ppl playing with the water balloons. WAY COOL!! so we managed to get some unexpected ppl drenched.
yours truly was REALLY wet. REALLY REALLY WET. thanks to michelle and suet ning.LOL. but it's cool.
i got drenched with some pepsi twist as well, contributions of nai chen. at first i thought it was some cold water being poured on me. then i heard the sizzling gassy sound, and then it tasted sweet. and i looked over, and saw nai chen holding this can of pepsi twist!!! AHHHHH!!!!!i dumped lotsa water on him. LOL. revenge is bliss!!!LOL.so i had to wash my hair off there and then coz i wus afraid i'd be infested with insects, not a pleasant sight. so my red streaks were washed off.LOL.
5 minutes later, i saw yu yee panicking a lil, asking for clean water. i was really surprised. asked her wht was going on. she told me that yi ping fell. and so we both rushed to yi ping. and i saw blood dripping a lil here and there and all over her blouse. i kinda freaked. rushed off to kiosk with a few other ppl to look for antiseptics. they didn't sell any. WTH???so someone came up with the brilliant idea of the labs providing first aid kits. so we rushed to the lab, got some creams antiseptics and gauze from the lab assistant and rushed back to yi ping. but ruying was already there with the whole box of first aid kit. yi ping was really really calm during the whole ordeal and she was smiling while we were all freaking out. she's cool.really cool.
tze meng then sent yiping to the clinic with me yuyee michelle and nai chen in the car. we brought her down and she was told that she needed stitches.
overall, i think she's doing quite well. she seems to be doing quite ok. hope she gets well soon.
but anyway, it's cool to see our class co-operate in major events like this, what with the charity drive and helpin one of our own. i just soooooo love S2.totally.
