cooking = life
after taking quite a long nap (technically not a nap anymore, but heyyyyooo), i woke up to go cook in the kitchen.
while stirring the vegetables (consisting of french beans, and carrots) in the frying pan, i realized, HEYYYYYYY...life is very much like cooking, eh?
for the few things:
a) preparation (chopping, cutting, slicing, dicing) is very similiar to a child's upbringing,both mentally and physically.
say for example, mommy and daddy must teach children to be good. no stealing, no killing, no raping. prepare them for what is ahead. send them off to school, bring them to church, so on so forth.
physically, you gotta get your kids to drink up those calcium drinks man!!! helps with their growth! get them to eat more tomatoes, and leave the skin on!! gives them good complexion, ya know. don't let them get to near those computer/tv screens!!! gives you a child with four eyes, eh??
b) step by step (first frying the garlic, then putting the onions in, and then the meat, followed by the vegetables)
this would be pretty obvious. step ups in life.
first you have your baby steps. you crawl, you walk then you run.
you learns your abcs, and then your 123s, then you move on to one syllable words, and then more.
the best thing in this case would be the accumulation of all that had been learnt.
you can't possibly forget how to walk, but still be able to run, can you? =P
c) mixing all together (just plain mixing and stirring with the spatula)
influences. plays a big deal in life, eh?? this is where ppl meet new ppl, and how the attitudes of others play a part in developing our own. pretty much like how each ingredient contributes to the overall taste of the dish, like how you can taste the prawns in your gravy, or how you relish in the sweetness of the ikan bilis soup.
they all come together in the end. everyone influences everyone else, no matter how much you deny it. ADMIT IT!!
d) spices!!!!(oooooooooooo...where EXTRA taste comes into place, let it be salt, pepper and all those herbsy-berbsy stuff)
this is what makes life more interesting and more challenging. pretty much similar to hurdles, and stuff. examinations, bgr, financial, etc etc. you get what i mean *wink*
e) serving
what more can i say?? presentation of the individual herself.....
btw, i don't mean to be sexist or anything, but did anyone ever realize that when an object/matter is reffered to in the third party, we ALWAYS use the females' substitution??
for example...
ppl ALWAYS refer to their cars as a SHE. VERY VERY obvious in hollywood movies.
~ SHE runs up to200 mph!!! impressssssiiivveee
ppl ALWAYS refer to their gizmos as a SHE. also obvious in movies
~ hey hey, don't point that sub-machine A453B3 at me man!!!! you gotta watch out for HER!!!
EVEN buildings are a SHE man!!!!!
* emergency sirens blasting off*
EXIT THE BUILDING DUDES!!!! SHE'S GONNA BLOW!!!!!!!!
see what i mean???
girl power....
=P
darn it...damn freaking random la...
