do nails become soft when you boil them??

coz i went through my lunch, and at the last mouthful, i felt something hard but flexible.
and when i pulled it out, it was in a shape of a toenail!!! *GASP*!
like, you know when you cut ur toenails? you get that slightly moonshaped piece.
YUCK!
and i found that bloody piece in my lunch!!

but usually, nails are basically hard, and when you bend them, they break.

but this piece was hard but flexible, meaning that even when i bent it, it didn't break!
but i swear, it looks so much like a toenail!!

which leads me to wondering if toenails DO become a lil bit more flexible when they're boiled or cooked or wateva, coz DAYUmN.
